Lest I forget, I put the list of projects (in order of importance) that I have stopped to wait to have some time to reactivate:

- Inverted pendulum: This project is in the process of debugging, I think the fault is either in the motor driver (which has been burning) or in a condenser that among the clues that are the engine (think spare). I need a font, an oscilloscope and an entire morning to finish it (I set up the structure of seaway).

- CanSat : I have a structure that would serve to make mounted (not yet out the final specifications of the competition), however the drive I have it half solved. I need: dust off the notes (of Riogas, Microwave and Antenna) an anechoic chamber with multiple RF gear and a couple of days (with some help) to finish adjusting the antenna.

- Robotic Laboratory : perhaps the project that I have stopped and that, initially, I would be most needed. I started with the power to see if in the near term the logic probe and make the protocol analyzer. I need: time and money (do not see what goes up in price when you try to do something with precision).

- Coach: o rapid prototyping board. Here I have a lot of work half done. I need: a lot of time and patience.

- microbots Farm (includes vibrobot ), this is part of the research I want to do collaborative botnets. I need: mechanical design and build a small robot.

- Sprinter : I have two unpublished articles about it without being able to make the images (some are in 3D), then must be built and tested. I need: a facilitated program for 3D design, time and money to build the prototype. Eston

are just the ones I started and I stopped halfway due to lack of time, to see if I end up examinations (in January) and I get to finish it least some of them (the first two). S2

science programs Linux on a EEEPC 1000HD (I): 3.0 Eeebuntu NBR

few days ago I bought an Asus EEEPC 1000HD , mostly chose this netbook for the price (was on sale) and 160GB hard drive (as they have to live with Windows XP and Linux). Since

came with Windows XP already installed I decided to install a version of Linux that I serve for this pc. The problem is always, " which to choose? I want to be a BBB (good, nice and cheap) that translating is fast, nice and usable, which need not be setting options but I recognize them by default.

So far I've tested 3.0 Eeebuntu NBR

good:
- I loved the first recognition of all hardware, including an external bluetooth USB-pen with which I managed to connect to the phone.
- The graphical interface is very friendly (Ubuntu Netbook remix version).
- Applications are fast.

bad:
- Creeps greatly GUI entry (the NBR itself), how bad is that's the beauty of the BBB.
- There is a small bug when upgrading from kernel config tool or EEA, when you press the right button on the EeePC Tray (the application that configures the buttons, wifi, webcam, etc).

I will try other options Any suggestions? S2

PS: For the record I'm pretty vague on Linux so it will avoid having to configure things (unless you have a script do this automatically).

PD: I will start testing the Eeebuntu LXDE 3.0 (beta) and it seems to be a minimal installation with a really light desktop ... to see that.

Coach - connector PIC40USB and Nunchuk (Wii)

I posted two modules over Coach project (the was in the pipeline).

First, the layout (just the outline) of PIC40USB to serve for the PIC18F4550 and the like. The novelty is that it includes a connector for USB and the ability to power electronics from the USB (not advisable to feed the rest of the modules from the USB and it might overload).

Second, a module for connecting the Nunchuk (auxiliary control of the Wii) with the remaining modules (using the I2C protocol), also carries the connector and built-in protections to prevent short circuits and power surges or use 5V supply.

hope shortly to put more modules (the PIC80 is in the process) and make these, I also modify the properties to set a standard for PCB's used. S2

As I said earlier power supply is essential in an electronics laboratory (and robotics), ideally have a source controlled variable symmetry and PC ... However this is expensive (> 500 €) and over time can interest a high power good voltage regulation.

For this (and to get some fast running) I have become a source of laboratory from a source which was AT home (from an old PC).

• GND (Black): Masa, both are connected to each other and the earth ground ( mass non-floating).

I've added a LED and have made a switch on the box itself short supply, so I can better controlled if a short circuit and turn off the power if necessary.

One thing to note is that the ground (GND) is not floating, ie is connected to earth física (EARTH) por lo para algunos experimentos no podremos usar esta fuente, sin embargo siempre se puede hacer una "chapucilla" eliminando la tierra (EARTH) del enchufe mediante un cable de 2 hilos.

A parte de esto, las Masas de los circuitos (+5V) - GND - (-5V) y (+12V) - GND - (-12V) estan conectadas entre ellas por lo que no podremos hacer circuitos independiente.

Además el circuito de 12V no es regulado por lo que no dará exactamente 12V a la salida y habrá que medirla con cada carga que se le ponga.

En un futuro espero mejorar la instrumentación del laboratorio haciendo una fuente regulada, simétrica y variable controlada por PC...

Mail sent to European Parliamentarians regarding the upcoming vote of the telecommunications package:

Dear Congressman / a ,

In this letter, I am writing to express my concern about the decision to take the next day May 6 vote when the so-called "Telecom Package" (telecom package).

consider final approval of this package is clearly against the English Constitution, especially Article 18 in paragraphs 3 and 4 that guarantee the secrecy of communications and limiting the use of information other than judicial resolution (resolution would be eliminated with the approval of this package.)

Moreover this package directly contravenes Article 20 of the English Constitution in paragraph 1.d, which guarantees freedom of communication and information, represented here by the so-called "net neutrality."

Since his party is strong supporter of the Constitution, I think we should consider these facts when voting, and I ask that you read the open letter attached to this message will, in which is discussed in more detail why the package should not be approved and how we affect their approval, whichever is.
